In level 1 we learn to take care of ourselves. We learn to ground, centre and put up protective sheilds for our day-to-day lives and for treatment sessions. We also learn about Reiki and the Reiki Way, as well as the DDTM philosophy.

You are embarking on a journey that could take you anywhere! You may choose to leave your training at this level – or you may go on to become a Reiki Master – Teacher! Due to some unfortunate circumstances that have occurred in past classes - all students are asked to read and adhere to the DDTM System of Reiki Student Code of Conduct.
Please take your training seriously, and treat both your fellow students, and your Kyoushi with the utmost respect. Please bring your signed copy of this agreement to our first class. (You can email a signed copy to Lisa - or even text a picture of the signed agreement to Lisa 604.551.5039. | ||

How to Prepare for Class:
- Drink Lots of Water
- Avoid Additives in foods, drinks, smoking, etc.
- Be well rested
- Meditate the night before and the morning of the class
- Eat a light but nutritious dinner
Things to Bring to Class:
- Note book & pencil / pen
- Comfortable clothing (no nylons, little/no jewelry)
- A Journal or Note Book
- A Journaling Pen / Pencil
An Introduction to Reiki Attunements:
Receiving a Reiki Attunement is a serious spiritual step. You will be reawakened to the power of Reiki, and will be able to feel the flow of Ki in your body as well as all around you. This is not something you should step into without personal reflection and meditation.
I say that you will be ‘reawakened’ to the energies because the energies are always there, and are always available to you and everyone else on the planet; it’s just that many of us have forgotten how to tap into and connect with this flow. Babies are born with this connection, but through socialization, we loose our connection. So an Attunement process is simply a reconnection with this life force energy.
Throughout your process I will be here to support you and answer any questions you may have – please feel free to contact me with any of your concerns, or your triumphs – I love to hear about your experiences!
What to expect during an Attunement:
To begin with I will ask you to close your eyes and meditate for a few moments: Center in your heart and connect with your Higher Self, your Guides, your God – whomever you feel is appropriate. This is a good time for you to set your intention for your attunement – why are you receiving this attunement? What goals do you wish to achieve through obtaining this connection? This is also a good time to express gratitude for your forthcoming transformation.
During the actual attunement process I will be moving your hands into the prayer position over different parts of your body, and pressing your hands together lightly. I will blow on you, I may tap you, and I may cradle your head in my hands. I may also gently lift your head at the occipital ridge - straightening your spine; this ‘rushes’ the energies through your body.
Throughout the process it’s nice to listen to your body and be aware of what is happening. You may feel nothing, or you may experience a whole array of sensations, all of which are an indication that the energy is flowing and that channels are being opened.
No matter what happens, know that the process has occurred and the transformation has begun.
